Oil Change

Changing the Oil

An important part of routine car maintenance is changing the oil regularly. The necessary frequency of oil changes has become a point of contention among experts, but common practice is every 3,000 miles. The use of synthetic oils can extend that interval to 6,000+ miles, but keep in mind that your vehicle is then going further between top-to-bottom inspections included with each oil change. This means, for example, that small leaks or worn tires often found during oil change inspections could become major issues and cause more damage during a longer maintenance interval.
